"Given her situation, if she doesn't marry Nian Lian, what else can she do? Go and harm someone else's son in the future? Hmph, I, Ning Chengfeng, would rather lose face than allow this to happen!" 

Mother Ning was out of breath. "So, in your opinion, marrying Qingqing to him is a great thing that you did? Have you ever thought about how much suffering your daughter will have to endure because of your decision to think of someone else's son?"

Ning Chengfeng's lips quivered twice, and he couldn't say a word.

With tears in her eyes, Mother Ning said, "She has been lying in bed for so long. When she woke up, you wouldn't let me see her. Now that she's back, you want to shut her out again. Ning Chengfeng, do you have to break up this family?"

Ning Chengfeng's eyes turned red, but he gritted his teeth and refused to budge.

Mother Ning wiped her tears and said firmly, "Su Su cannot be saved. I don't care what you think, but I can't lose Qingqing again."

At the originally harmonious dinner table, only Ning Chengfeng was left. He looked at the food on the table, sat down weakly, and had a face full of powerlessness and decadence.

Ning Qing stood at the stairs.

Her long eyelashes drooped and fell on her eyelids, forming a dim shadow.

She turned around and went upstairs.

Mother Ning caught up with her on the second floor, searched for her for a while, and finally found her in Ning Su's room.

"Qingqing?"

Ning Qing lifted her eyelids. Her lively eyes were like a still pond.

"How did you come here?"

Mother Ning hesitated for a moment, then walked in.

"Your face doesn't look good. Is there something wrong with your body?"

Ning Qing scanned her surroundings, and her calmness made Mother Ning uneasy.

"Qingqing..."

Ning Qing couldn't find the simple and happy feeling that she had before in this familiar but unfamiliar room. The suppression and confinement made her almost unable to breathe.

The furnishings in the room were almost unchanged. There was a large bed by the window, a beige wardrobe, and a small desk. A complicated bookshelf was next to it, with various books on top. There were headbands and hairpins on the dressing table, and a thin layer of dust on the mirror.

But now was different from the past.

The things were the same, but the person was different.

Ning Qing pursed her lips. "Mom, I have a question to ask you."

Mother Ning smile froze instantly. "Why...why are you suddenly asking about this?"

Ning Qing saw her panic, and a hint of coldness passed through her beautiful eyes.

She said, "I slept for three years and forgot a lot of things from the past. No one was willing to tell me. I haven't thought everything through, and was told that I had already married. But, Mom..."

Why, when she became a vegetable, was she allowed to be bound for life with someone unrelated to her without her consent? Moreover, that person has a close relationship with her sister.

Ning Mu stammered, and Ning Qing stared at her, her tone laced with a fine ice.

"Is it for money or power?"

Her attitude was cold, completely different from before.

While Ning Mu's heart was sour, she immediately refuted, "Of course not!"

"Then why?"

Ning Mu's gaze flickered and avoided eye contact with her.

Ning Qing's heart turned cold, and her tone was icy.

"Let me ask a different question. What is the relationship between my sister and Nian Lian?"

Ning Mu widened her eyes, sounding absurd. "What kind of question is that?"

Ning Qing held her breath and her words turned into a sharp blade, sharp and with a hint of sarcasm.

"You married me off to Nian Lian without my consent. Wasn't it because she was dead and I was still alive? And the person Nian Lian wanted to marry from beginning to end was my sister, wasn't it?"
