Chapter 337: Little Girl, You're Too Easily Satisfied


A few days ago, some people from the Su family appeared around Qin Ruan. 


As soon as Huo Zhi and the others discovered it, they immediately reported it, but before the Huo family could take action, those people from the Su family had already withdrawn on their own. 


Third Young Master's voice was solemn: "Make sure everyone below is vigilant. In a few days, Madam will attend Nangong Chang's wedding. You must protect her at all costs." 


"Yes, Master!" 


Hou Zhi lowered her head, speaking respectfully yet firmly. 


Hou Yunjiao fell into silence, and the space was enveloped in an eerie quietness. 


After a moment, Hou Yunjiao propped his chin with one hand and casually said, "From now on, when Madam asks you questions about me, answer truthfully." 


Hou Zhi blinked and stole a glance at her composed and elegant Master, whose delicate face remained calm. 


He appeared no different from usual. 


Hou Zhi didn't know if it was her imagination, but she always felt that something seemed off about her Master. 


The silence lasted only a couple of seconds before Hou Zhi immediately replied, "I understand, Master." 


Hou Yunjiao eyes narrowed slightly. "Has Ruan Ruan's taste changed recently?" 


Hou Zhi didn't hesitate at all and answered with certainty, "Madam has been preferring sour flavors recently." 


"Sour flavors?" A smile appeared in Hou Yunjiao's eyes. "Have you prepared the snacks she has been fond of recently?" 


"Everything has been prepared. The snacks Madam loves recently, as well as the preferred flavors in the kitchen at the back of the cabin, have all been arranged." 


Hou Yunjiao nodded lightly. "That's good. Pay close attention to any changes in Madam's lifestyle and diet, as well as her emotions. Report any abnormalities immediately." 


Hou Zhi nodded. "Yes, Third Young Master." 


Hou Yunjiao waved his hand. "Go find Madam. Stay by her side as much as possible, except during rest time, and be vigilant against any unforeseen incidents." 


"I will go now!" Hou Zhi turned around and left. 


Hou Yunjiao stared at her receding figure, leaning lightly on the sofa, his posture relaxed and lazy. 


His gaze fell on the top of the cabin, and a faint smile appeared on his handsome face. 


Having lived for nearly thirty years without even having his own flesh and blood, he had already experienced the feeling of raising a child. 


Qin Ruan's child in her belly was approaching two months, and he wondered how lively the house would be after a few more months when the child was born.

8 p.m. 


Zhi Jue finally arrived at their destination. 


Qin Ruan, Qin Mei, and Josh eagerly assembled their fishing gear. 


They set up their iron rod and spinning reel, quietly waiting for the fish in the sea to bite. 


Hou Yunjiao and Hou Yirong stood behind them, observing the three's excited expressions.

Fishing requires patience, but both Qin Mei and Josh are impatient individuals.


After a while, their excitement subsided, and they began to talk in low voices.


The sea breeze tousled Qin Ruan's hair as she smiled brightly, listening to her elder brother talking to Josh, occasionally bursting into laughter.


Hou Yunjiao said to Hou Chuan standing beside him, "Bring the shawl scarf from inside the house."


"Yes, Third Young Master," Hou Chuan turned and left.


Hou Yirong gazed up at the starry sky above the sea and sighed, "Third Brother, how long has it been since you last came out?"


Hou Yunjiao couldn't remember exactly how long it had been.


In a faint tone, he replied, "A few years, perhaps."


Hou Yirong looked at him with a smile in her eyes and said, "You've been out for four or five hours since leaving this afternoon, and it seems like there's nothing wrong with your health."


Hou Yunjiao paused for a moment, and indeed, his body felt perfectly fine.


He chuckled softly, "I'm lucky."


Hou Yirong's smile deepened in her eyes. "Doesn't this mean that your health is improving?"


Hou Yunjiao's gaze turned gentle as he stared at Qin Ruan's figure. "Perhaps."


Following his line of sight, Hou Yirong guessed, "Is it related to Qin Ruan?"


Hou Yunjiao didn't answer; instead, a shallow arc formed at the corner of his lips.


Silence meant consent, and seeing Hou Yunjiao's joyful expression at his improved health and his gaze on Qin Ruan, Hou Yirong couldn't help but feel puzzled.


How capable is Qin Ruan exactly? It seemed like since her appearance, Third Brother had undergone significant changes.


He was aware of Qin Ruan's previous contact with Lu Han.


Due to the fact that she was Third Brother's person, he refrained from investigating further.


Qin Ruan had interacted with people from the metaphysical world, renowned actors, and even the peripheral branches of the Rong family.


What was particularly noteworthy was her connection with Lu Han, the eldest son of the Lu family, which had nothing to do with the Hou family but rather because Qin Ruan was also involved in the metaphysical world.

Hou Yirong's thoughts drifted towards conspiracy theories, not because he had ill intentions towards Qin Ruan, but because it didn't quite make sense logically.


Hou Yunjiao's handsome and cold face revealed a smile. "Second Brother, Ruan Ruan has never concealed anything from me. Many things were revealed by her own choice. This girl is very intelligent and knows how to proceed gradually."


Understanding dawned in Hou Yirong's eyes. Qin Ruan was gradually revealing her cards in front of Third Brother, but they didn't know where her mysteries came from.


He nodded in agreement. "Indeed, Qin Ruan is very clever. She has been in the Hou family for a while now, and she has never overstepped her boundaries. It's just that she considers herself an outsider."


Once, when he was discussing matters concerning the Nangong, Su, and Xiao families with Hou Qiang, Qin Ruan came back from outside, and he asked her to sit down and rest.

Qin Ruan handed a preserved plum and a yogurt, one to Qin Mei and one to Josh.


Qin Mei held the bag containing the preserved plum, his lips twitching slightly.


He had tasted this before, and it was so sour it could make one lose their teeth. He couldn't handle it.


He wondered how his younger sister managed to eat something so sour.


Qin Mei placed the preserved plum back into Qin Ruan's embrace. "Keep it for yourself."


Qin Ruan pinched a preserved plum and placed it in her mouth.


A satisfied smile appeared in her delicate and beautiful eyes.


Hou Yunjiao approached, observing the contented expression on her face, and couldn't help but chuckle.


This girl was too easily satisfied.
