The second time was when he was nineteen. The day before he has to leave for the exams, he injured his arm, losing the qualification to participate.

Speaking of it, Chu Heng was indeed resilient. Encountering mishaps twice in a row, he didn't even get a chance to seriously take the exams.

Ye Muyu was pondering when suddenly footsteps echoed, and the kitchen door was forcefully pushed open.

Instinctively turning her head, she felt a shadow cast over her. Chu Heng's face was as dark as water, glaring at her.

"Is there... something?" Ye Muyu hesitated.

Chu Heng's voice was as cold as iron, "Why didn't you inform me when an outsider came? Are you so clueless that you can't even ask me?"

In the past life, it was the same. She knew nothing and did things without consulting him. When things went wrong, he felt she was not caring enough.

Thinking about all this, Chu Heng became even angrier.

He reached out, grabbing Ye Muyu's wrist. "Go and drive that woman away. She's clearly trying to deceive you and you believe her."

Ye Muyu's gaze fell on his hand gripping her wrist and she calmly said "Can you let go of my wrist before talking? It hurts when you squeeze it."

Although it was painful Ye Muyu remained calm.

Chu Heng frowned surprised by Ye Muyu's reaction. It was completely different from what he expected.

He released her hand from his mouth, his voice cold and hard "If you still have a brain you should know what to do."

"Don't think you're the only smart person here." After giving him a glance Ye Muyu spoke calmly. She rubbed her wrist, then walked out of the kitchen to send away Tang Rou.

Sending Tang Rou away especially seeing the reluctant expression on her face, Ye Muyu regretted involving herself in this matter. If Tang Rou really had intentions she could have directly pursued Chu Heng without affecting her life.

Now, this man was angry with a serious face, treating the two children as if they owed him money. They couldn't even eat properly, trembling with fear, afraid to make a sound.

When Ye Muyu returned to the kitchen, Chu Heng had already gone back to his study.

She acted as if nothing had happened continuing to cook.

After finishing the dishes, she set the table and called the three to eat.

The dining table was very quiet.

Chu Heng sat at the head, staring fixedly at Ye Muyu as if trying to see through her.

Ye Muyu behaved as if he didn't exist, serving the two children first before serving Chu Heng.

Then, she served herself.

The dishes she cooked for lunch were appetizing. Seeing that the two children were hesitant to pick up the food she used a spoon to transfer the dishes directly into their bowls.

"Eat."

Chu Ziluo and Chu Jin eat without saying a word keeping their heads down.

Ye Muyu's action of transferring dishes made Chu Ziluo feel that her mother was really good. Knowing that she was hesitant to pick dishes, this solved the problem. She noticed that her portion was the same as her brother with the only difference being that her brother had a little rice.

Chu Ziluo was delighted.

During the meal, Chu Heng eat without expression, but he sneered at Ye Muyu's actions.

After finishing the meal, he sat motionless at the head of the table.

Seeing his mood, Ye Muyu called out to the two children to return to their rooms.

Once the two children left, Ye Muyu spoke, "Is there something you want to say to me?"
