Chu Heng unexpectedly glanced at her, feeling that today's Ye Muyu was somewhat sensible. His anger subsided a bit. He tapped his fingers lightly on the table three times before saying, "Your mother will come this afternoon. After I go to the county tomorrow, the two children will be sent to the old residence. "So, you mean you want to send the two children to the old residence?" Ye Muyu's pupils slightly contracted, lips pressed together. She felt that she might have underestimated the relationship between the original owner and her husband.

Looking at Chu Heng's current actions, it was clear that he was dissatisfied with how the original owner had raised the two children.

If that was the case, her situation might become awkward.

"How long will they be sent over?" Ye Muyu asked calmly.

After a while, Chu Heng said "Just send them over for now."

But he didn't specify the exact duration.

Ye Muyu furrowed her brows  she wasn't naive. In ancient times, it would be very embarrassing and strange for a woman not to manage her children. Moreover, she had her own children. Handing them over to the elderly at the Chu family's old residence, how would outsiders view her?

Even her sisters-in-law might gossip about it.

If she needed to accompany Chu Heng to the county and couldn't take care of the children, that would be understandable. However, the reality seemed different. She was likely to stay in the village and the children would be left at the old Chu family residence.

She bit her lip, "Do you think it's appropriate to do this?"

"Appropriate." Chu Heng's voice was very cold, seemingly determined to go through with it.

Ye Muyu was getting a bit angry. She was angry because she felt this man didn't give her basic respect.

Her face remained calm but her tone became firm, "There's no precedent in the village for such a thing. It's better not to do things that would invite ridicule."

She didn't like to get involved in troublesome matters.

If there were issues, they could be discussed openly and resolved without deliberately targeting each other.

"The current ridicule is temporary. If they continue to be like this when they grow up, that will be the real mockery." Chu Heng insisted.

Regarding Ye Muyu, he couldn't trust her and couldn't let his guard down.

This time, it was just a test and also for the good of the two children. He had to do this. Even if it affected his reputation, it was better than ruining the two children.

Ye Muyu looked at him. His face was stern but she secretly admired him. At least, the two children had a responsible father, willing to take responsibility for them. In the future it wouldn't be bad. Although this man's temper wasn't good, he was at least a responsible person.

However, when considered as the mother of the children, who was treated with suspicion and disdain her feelings were quite complicated.

"Have you decided?" Ye Muyu calmed her emotions. She wasn't angry anymore. Her greatest strength had always been adaptation finding the most suitable position for herself. For example, maintaining mutual respect with Chu Heng.

As for the two children, since they were related to this body by blood, she couldn't ignore them. She just needed to teach them well.

She didn't need to force anything else.

"Yes." Chu Heng replied.

Ye Muyu didn't say anything more only stating "Okay, I understand. I'll personally talk to them later."

Chu Heng was somewhat surprised. It seemed he hadn't expected Ye to agree so quickly.
