Chapter 1074: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
Chapter 1074: Goodbye, Master Wan
As Shu Yu was still pondering, a voice came from the front carriage, "Stop the carriage."
The carriage came to a sudden halt, and the one behind naturally stopped as well.
A person stepped out of the carriage, and the constable standing in front of Shu Yu quickly approached him, "Master Wan."
It seemed that this was the Prefect of Shangyang Prefecture.
The Prefect waved his hand and walked a few steps to the side of the front carriage, asking, "Master Wan, is there something you need?"
Master Wan shook his head, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke, "Miss Lu?"
The Prefect magistrate was momentarily confused, and he followed Master Wan's gaze, turning his head to see the eye-catching white horse and then Shu Yu beside it.
He asked in a low voice, "Does Master Wan know this young lady?"
Master Wan nodded and stepped down from the carriage, walking a few steps towards Shu Yu.
"Miss Lu Xiangjun, it really is you."
Shu Yu didn't expect him to recognize her. Surprised for a moment, she immediately bowed, "Master Wan, it has been a long time. I hope you are well."
"I'm doing well. Congratulations are in order for Miss Lu Xiangjun," Master Wan smiled. "Where are you heading?"
As he spoke, he glanced at the white horse a couple of times.
If it weren't for the coachman's comment about the spirited white horse on the side, he wouldn't have been curious enough to lift the curtain.
When he looked outside, he happened to see Lu Xiangjun next to the white horse.
Although he had only met Shu Yu once, it had left a deep impression on him. Mainly because both Minister Yao and Minister Qi regarded her highly. Among the people who saw Yao Tianqin off when he returned to the capital, she stood out despite her plain attire, not fitting into the melancholic atmosphere of Heichang County.
Later, on the way to send Minister Yao back to the capital, he had heard Minister Yao mention this young lady. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have been reinstated.
At first, Master Wan didn't pay much attention to such a young girl, but Minister Yao mentioned that it was this young lady who introduced him to Minister Qi, which made him somewhat intrigued.
After the heat patches incident, followed by Minister Qi's return to the capital, Master Wan couldn't forget about Shu Yu even if he tried.
Shu Yu smiled and replied, "I'm going on a journey."
The Prefect magistrate happened to approach them, looking at Shu Yu with surprise.
Master Wan introduced, "This is Miss Lu Xiangjun, the one who submitted the heat patches. And this is Master Yang, the Prefect magistrate of Shangyang Prefecture."
As he spoke, he looked behind Shu Yu.
Upon seeing the collapsed walls, Prefect Yang's attention was drawn to several people who were intently staring at the white horse behind Shu Yu. Master Wan narrowed his eyes slightly, "Miss Lu Xiangjun, are you in some trouble?"
Shu Yu shook her head, "It's nothing serious. There was heavy rainfall, and the walls collapsed. I'm currently discussing compensation with the innkeeper."
"I see."
Since she didn't mention it, it meant the issue wasn't significant.
Master Wan had more pressing matters to attend to and couldn't delay any longer. He exchanged a few words with Shu Yu and then returned to his carriage.
The Prefect magistrate also had important business to attend to and didn't want to waste any more time. He instructed his attendant, "You stay here and assist Lu Xiangjun. Once everything is settled, come back."
"Yes."
The Prefect magistrate nodded to Shu Yu and then boarded the carriage.
The two carriages, followed by their constables, continued toward the city gate. They disappeared around a corner, and the people nearby breathed a sigh of relief.
Shu Yu pondered, wondering if Master Wan was going somewhere else for an official errand?
Shangyang Prefecture was on the way to Lin Zhangfu, after all.
