Chapter 184: The Peasant Girl’s Splendid Manor
Chapter 184: Almost Caught in a Dilemma (3)
Many of the chickens had been eaten by the python, causing them great panic. They clustered around Mo Yan, who moved about, seemingly unsure of where to go. Mo Yan couldn't help but feel speechless; after all, she had often caught and slaughtered chickens of their kind for food!
After tidying up the space, Mo Yan collected the chicken eggs and, seeing that the python had not left, began picking fruits.
The fruits had ripened a few days ago, so Mo Yan finally enjoyed days of having fruits to eat every day. While the origins of some fruits were unclear, local fruits like pears, peaches, and plums could still be taken out to eat. Therefore, the fruit supply at the Mo family's home remained uninterrupted, and everyone enjoyed it.
Apart from the usual fruit trees, there were over twenty precious ones in the space, such as grapes, lychees, and longans, which were Mo Yan's favorites. She ate while picking, quickly satisfying her hunger.
With so much fruit, Mo Yan couldn't finish it alone, so she planned to ferment some into fruit wine and save it for later. When the orchard bore fruit in the future, she could openly take it out to drink, or even give it away as gifts.
In her busyness, Mo Yan forgot about the time. From the moment she was taken away by the python until now, only about a moment had passed outside, but for Xiao Ruiyuan, who was anxious beyond measure, it felt like several days and nights had gone by.
After harvesting a large area of rice and threshing it, Mo Yan discovered that the python was gone. She happily took a sickle out of the space, intending to cut through the vines and find a way out. However, she felt a tightness around her waist as the python coiled around her again.
It turned out that the python, seeing that Mo Yan was unwilling to come out, cunningly hid nearby. As soon as Mo Yan emerged, it swiftly wrapped around her, fearing that the others would catch up, it carried her away.
The python was fast, effortlessly navigating the uneven slope covered in vines, and soon escaped from that area.
When Xiao Ruiyuan finally managed to descend, all he saw was the python anxiously waiting for Mo Yan, and the vines shattered by its tail. He thought the python had done something to Mo Yan, and a chilling feeling enveloped him, making him even more worried.
As Da Bai continued to search for Mo Yan's scent and chased in one direction, Xiao Ruiyuan, holding onto a glimmer of hope, continued searching. Even if... even if he couldn't find her... no, he must find her, he must!
The python brought Mo Yan to a dark cave. This time, the python was clever; it tightly coiled around Mo Yan, refusing to let go. Mo Yan couldn't escape, and even letting this trouble into her space was out of the question.
Mo Yan leisurely took out an apple and slowly nibbled on it, calmly watching the python's frantic behavior, seeking revenge for its earlier mischief. If possible, she would have loved to pin it to a plank and let it suffer.
However, even though it had just molted, its scales were still very tough, and nails probably wouldn't pierce them easily. Unless she used a hammer, if its skin were made into armor, its defensive capabilities would be impressive.
The python was unaware of Mo Yan's coveting of its scales. It leaned its head close to Mo Yan, hissing softly.
Unfortunately, due to their different species and vastly different languages, Mo Yan couldn't even begin to guess what it was saying, but it was certain that this creature coveted her space.
Escaping wouldn't be difficult for Mo Yan. She only needed to throw the python into her space, find Da Bai and Xiao Hua, let them in, and confront the python. Even if she didn't kill it, injuring it and throwing it out would suffice.
However, the time difference between inside and outside the space was too great. By the time she found Xiao Hua and Da Bai and had the opportunity to let them in, she feared that all the plants she had painstakingly collected would be destroyed. She didn't want to resort to this method unless absolutely necessary.
