Sheng Mingsi's eyes deepened as he listened, his voice low and throaty, "I'm angry because you left without a word, because you came here to drink! Wasn't I supposed to have you study well at home?"

Jiang Chenchen hurriedly replied, "I have been studying well, but you already have a fiancée, and I can't stay at your home anymore."

Sheng Mingsi, hearing her words, probably understood what was going on.

The elevator reached the first floor.

He released his grip on her chin and instead held her wrist, leading her out.

Jiang Chenchen, seeing him suddenly silent, didn't know what he would do next. Was he still angry?

In the car, Sheng Mingsi fastened his seatbelt and fell into silence in the darkness.

"I don't have a fiancée."

He smirked as if concealing something, "Except for me, no one can drive you away from my home. I promised to support your education, and I won't break my word."

Suppressing his anger, he started the car and drove out.

Jiang Chenchen didn't understand why that woman lied to her that day, but since she wasn't his fiancée, her current thoughts were: "Can I come back to live here?"

She looked at him hopefully.

With no lights on in the car, in the dim light, he could feel the anticipation in her words and the direct yet eager gaze.

The words fell into Jiang Chenchen's ears, and happiness welled up in her heart.

"The one sitting next to you."

Sheng Mingsi asked, "He didn't do anything to you, right?"

"If he bothers you again in the future, don't be polite." Sheng Mingsi turned the steering wheel, "Have you eaten? I'll take you out for a meal."

"Hmm." Sheng Mingsi responded in a low voice.

After the meal, Sheng Mingsi drove back home. Upon hearing that Xia Changli was hospitalized, he sent Wu Bi to the hospital to stay overnight.

At home, exhausted from the busy days, Sheng Mingsi advised Jiang Chenchen to rest and then went to the Sheng family's old house.

He never liked his mother interfering in his affairs. Despite Sheng Qinhua's usual dominance, she had not meddled much in his matters since his rebellious teenage years.

This time, he was extremely annoyed!

The butler saw Young Master Sheng returning late at night, both surprised and delighted, and quickly welcomed him in, "Young Master Mingsi, Madam is probably resting now."

"I heard you just came back from a business trip. It must have been tough on the road. I'll have the kitchen prepare a meal for you. After eating, take a hot bath and rest well."
