 Chapter 40: Don't Think You Can Play Tricks

The guy in the leather jacket who had once been kicked to the ground by Jiang Chenchen.

In his twenties, the leather jacket guy had fair skin and a tender appearance. However, he had a flashy style, sporting a shaved head with red hair, necklaces dangling, and earrings on his ears.

When he saw a beautiful woman seemingly suffering from hypoglycemia on the side of the road, he thought of doing a good deed, only to encounter an old acquaintance.

Handing over one portion, she said, "Stop."

The red-haired guy subconsciously took it. Then, he exclaimed, "What? You think you can settle this with just this?"

Xia Changli was resting in the ward, and Jiang Chenchen didn't want to disturb her. So, she led the red-haired guy to the stairwell. He looked terrified, wondering if she would kick him down again.

He leaned against the wall.

However, Jiang Chenchen sat on the steps, opened the lunchbox, and began to eat.

"You're quite disrespectful! The matter hasn't been resolved yet!" he complained.

"Have your meal first."

Seeing her enjoy the meal, he couldn't resist. Wasn't it just a lunchbox? Would he eat it?

The red-haired guy sat next to her. "The cafeteria auntie's cooking skills are really bad. She didn't even cut the meat properly, and there's no fragrance. It's really lousy."

"What do you want?" Jiang Chenchen asked.

"This matter is easy to resolve." The red-haired guy threw the chopsticks aside and pushed the lunchbox away. "Tonight, come with me somewhere, and we'll settle this."

"Where?"

"A place to drink."

"What if I don't want to go?"

"You can refuse, but the patient in this ward can't withstand the disturbance."

"I can kick you down right now."

"You dare! Hey, don't be so impulsive! Let's negotiate! The main thing is that what you did was unethical. That kick to my chest really hurt!" he said, rubbing his chest. "I didn't intend to harm you. I just said, let's have a drink together. They say that after sharing a drink, people become friends. We'll call it even."

Jiang Chenchen found this person quite troublesome. Why was he so talkative? Her ears were getting calloused. If she didn't agree, it might affect Xia Changli. So, reluctantly, she agreed.

"I'll pick you up tonight." The red-haired guy hurriedly left, looking quite pleased.

In the afternoon, Jiang Chenchen stayed by Xia Changli's bedside. Xia Changli was sleeping, and Jiang Chenchen kept her head down, reading a book.

She accompanied her quietly. She didn't speak, but Xia Changli felt very reassured.

"By the way, Chenchen, how did it go when you met President Gu that day?" Xia Changli asked.

"I'm participating in a romance variety show at the beginning of the month."

"A romance variety show? Stars and ordinary people dating? Chenchen, do you know what dating is?"
